| ZA Bhutto was photographed naked after execution! | | | BL KAK NEW DELHI, Apr 3: Pakistan's former Prime Minister, ZA Bhutto, though dead, is being talked about once again--this time after a military official has revealed that he (Bhuto) was phoptographed naked after his execution on April 4, 1979 to see if he was circumcised in an IUslamic way. In Pakistan, the retired military offical, Col. Rafiuddin, has aid in a TV interview that some people believed that since the Bhutto family had come from India, it was possible that Bhutto had not been circumcised in an Islamic style. To remove such a suspicion, a photographer was asked to take pictures of the corpse, he said. ZA Bhutto was awarded capital punishment on the charge of abetment in the killing of Nawab Ahmed Raza Kasuri. Col. Rafiuddin was the in charge of the cells of Bhutto and four other co-accused, who were also hanged subsequently. According to the colonel, the cell of ZA Bhutto was bugged and even a paper's sound was recorded by the intelligence agencies. The floor and the ceiling of the cell had been reinforced especially to ensure that nobody could take away the incarcerated leader either through a tunnel or airlift. Even the PIA planes were under instructions not to fly over the prison. Once a plane was about to be targeted by anti-aircraft guns as it passed from what could be called a no-fly zone, the colonel said. Replying to a question, the colonel said that nine days before his execution, Bhutto had started hunger strike which continued till the last. He did not give reasons for the hunger strike. About the treatment he had received at the hands of his captors‚ the colonel said that Bhutto had said that even the Nazis had not treated the Jews in the way he had been treated. A prisoners' van transported the man who had been a former President, a former Prime Minister and a civilian Chief Martial Law Administrator. According to the colonel, Bhutto had said of Gen Zia-ul-Haq that agents of the United States always met a bad fate. The colonel held the US responsible for the air crash which led to the killing of Gen Zia and several others on August 17, 1988. In response to a question, the colonel said 'sofa set' was the code word used for the movement of Bhutto from one place to the other. He revealed that a colleague of Bhutto had met Gen Zia to seek forgiveness for the condemned leader, but the military ruler had turned down the request. He saidthat the intelligence agencies knew that Bhutto was preparing notes during his detention. Once, he recalled, Begum Nusrat Bhutto was disallowed to meet her incarcerated husband because she had refused to get her handbag searched by agencies. It was suspected that Bhutto's wife provided some press clippings or other information to ZA Bhutto. To ward off such a possibility the agencies did not allow her to meet her spouse without getting her handbag thoroughly checked.
