Srinagar, Apr 3 Expressing optimism that dialogue process between India and Pakistan would fruit in the larger interest of people of Jammu and Kashmir and lasting peace in the sub-continent, Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad said on Tuesday that considerable improvement in the relations between two neighbours envisage amicable resolution of all issues. Addressing a mammoth gathering at Wakura in the newly created district of Ganderbal, Chief Minister said that at the time of assuming office he had assured that added attention will be paid towards restoration of peace in Jammu and Kashmir and in that pursuit concrete steps have been initiated both at Centre and State levels to carry forward peace process with coordinated approach. He said that people had been exploited during last sixty years by emotional slogans which yielded zero results. Chief Minister said the priority of the government is massive development in all sectors and construction of roads, hospitals, bridges, educational institutions, water supply projects have been given focus of attention. He said special attention has been laid on improving work culture and make administration accountable. Chief Minister said that during the last four and a half years liberal funds have been provided by the Centre and these have to be utilized judiciously to ensure benefits to people. Mr. Azad asked people to become eyes and ears of the government and raise their voice against irregularities. He said government believes in justice and efforts are on to curb evils of greed, corruption and inefficiency from the administration and also from the society. He asserted that mere slogans cannot improve things. “All of us have to work unitedly to take Jammu and Kashmir to new heights of progress and development”. Earlier on his arrival, Chief Minister was given a rousing reception with pro-Azad slogans and traditional Kashmiri Wanwun.
