Jammu/Srinagar, Mar 6: Jammu and Kashmir Co-ordination Committee of Trade Unions (JKCCTU) in response to nationwide protest call given by All India State Govt Employees Federation (AISGEF) today held massive demonstration cum rally at Press club Jammu and Partap park Srinagar today against recently passed National Pension Act , contractorisation, casualisation and outsourcing in Govt.and semi Govt departments. Protestors were also demanding withdrawal of pension act, formulation of immediate wage and regularisation policies of all temporary workers and also highlighted other burning demands. While addressing a huge rally of employees and workers at Partap Park Srinagar and Press Club Jammu, Mohd Maqbool Secretary AISGEF and President JKCCTU Gunneet Singh General Secretary addressing a respective rallies said, "The Central and State Govt,s neo-liberal economic and anti-working class policies has created a situation of mass unrest. While explaining the adverse effects of notorious pension Act, the JKCCTU leaders said it will snatch away hard earned right of Pension and condemned Govt's desperate attempts contractorisation outsourcing and casualisation and job freezing. Trade unionists demanded implementation of Labour laws, Regularisation of all Casual, Contract, and other temporary workers, Enhancement of retirement age to 60 and strengthening of Public Distribution system(PDS) and merging of 50% D.A with basic pay etc. Further demanding filling of all vacancies through permanent appointments and withdrawal of recruitment policy by the as State Govt, speakers urged the working class of the State to wage more intensified struggles and ensure broader unity among the trade unions. Besides Gurmeet Singh General Secretary JKCCTU, among others who addressed rally at Press Cub Jammu included Ram Kumar, Tarseem Lal, Surinder Sharma, Amrinder Singh, Jatinder Pathania and other leaders of JKCCTU while Ali Mohamad, Gh Mohamad, Ab Ahad Shiekh, Shiekh Ajaz Makhdoomi, Gh Nabi Reshi , Ab Rashid Najar, Md Younus, Tarik Rasool and other veteran leaders of JKCCTU leaders. Meanwhile memorandums of demands were submitted by the leaders of JKCCTU both at Jammu and Srinagar to district authorities. |
