| ESIC offers amnesty scheme to employees | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 6: State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) has offered an amnesty scheme to employees and employers facing prosecution at various courts for allegedly abusing the insurance scheme. According to official spokesperson, several Employers and Employees associated with the ESI Scheme, who are involved in Court cases under ESI Act., 1948 have been making inquiries about Amnesty Scheme for ending the litigation. And towards this end Employees' State Insurance Corporation Headquarters office has announced the ESIC Amnesty Scheme, 2014 which is operational between 28/01/2014 to 27/01/2015. "All such Employers/Insured Employees (IPs) can avail of the facility of this scheme for settling the litigation in accordance with this Amnesty Scheme, in respect of such cases which either ESIC has filed against the Employer/Insured Employee or they have filed against ESIC, the statement said and added that in all such cases which are filed upto 31/12/2013 the matter can be examined under this scheme for ending the litigation. He said that there are several concessional provisions for Employers/Employees under the scheme such as rebate/concession of upto 100% in damages levied against the Employers.
