| NSF demands sacking of over-aged retired faculty members, corrupt officers | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 6: National Secular Forum (NSF) took out a strong protest rally in University Campus to express dissatisfaction over the functioning of the Central University. The protest was led by Sukhdev Singh President NSF, activists were raising slogans against the Vice-Chancellor for not taking note of their demands and maintaining stoic silence over the entire matter. Addressing the occasion, Sukhdev Singh criticized the working of Central University Vice-Chancellor and also to show there resentment against delay in coming up construction work in Central University of Jammu and no check accountability in functioning of Central University Jammu. He said that the CUJ administration was ignoring the youth of Jammu region in jobs and jobs are being awarded to non-state subjects holder thereby the CUJ, V-C was playing with the emotions and sentiments of Jammuties. Sukhdev Singh also said the varsity has become a rehabilitation center for retired and corrupt officials. "The varsity administration has violated the norms by recruiting the retired teachers and other staff members. As per the Central University Statutes, the serving officials should not be above 65 years but the administration has recruited some teachers who are above 65years," he said. He said it was shocking that the Vice-Chancellor has appointed Professor N.R. Sharma as first Dean Students Welfare (DSW) of the varsity who has been over-aged retired professor. The post of DSW is an administrator. As per the Central University Statutes, DSW officer should not be above 62 years but the VC has recruited Professor N.R.Sharma as DSW who is above 65years," he said. In the process, all deserved candidates were ignored. |
