| Frequent transfers of BDO's resented, protesters tried to lock 'revenue office' | | | Early Times Report
Kishtwar, Mar 6 : Resenting the frequent transfers of Block Development Officers (BDOs) of Gandoh Block locals staged a protest here today outside the office of Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Gandoh and also tried to lock the Revenue Complex, but their bid was foiled by some local politicians and officials of the administration who pacified the agitators. As per the reports from the area, the angry people led by local Sarpanch Javed Iqbal Zarger showed their resentment over transfer of three BDO's of Gundoh block within last one month and alleged that due to frequent transfers public works in Block Gandoh suffered at large. "The protestors including local Sarpanches and Panches raising slogans against government as well as RDD Minister for frequent transfers of BDO's staged protest outside SDM office Gundoh and mentioned that three BDO's namely Mohammad Haroon, Narinder Kumar and Rafiq Chowdhary have been transferred and posted at Gundoh block. The protestors also tried to lock the revenue complex, but due intervention of some local politicians and officials of the administration, the protestors did not lock the said complex. They protestors however warned the authorities in case the government fails to post a permanent BDO in the block, they will launch an agitation. |
