| Inayatullah takes charge as DC | | Residents jubilant over granting district status to Kishtwar | |
KISHTWAR APR 03 It was a letter day for the people of Kishtwar when the newly created District started functioning today. The newly appointed Deputy Commissioner Shahid Inayatullah took the charge today amidst rousing reception from the employees and a large number of people. The entire town wore a festive look today with the opening of the Deputy Commissioner’s office and lauded CM Azad for granting district status to Kishtwar, a long pending demand of the area. On his arrival, the Deputy Commissioner was given a rousing reception in the office complex by all sections of employees and garlanded him with flowers in at a well attended function, organized by Low Paid Government Employees Federation, headed by its District President Syed Ahmed Shah. Soon after taking over the charge, the Deputy Commissioner was taken in procession at the martyrs’ graveyard, who laid down their lives during agitation in 1974 for grant of district status to Kishtwar. Later, the Deputy Commissioner took an introductory meeting of the revenue staff and other functionaries of Police, Rural Development, Treasury, Social Welfare and other departments. He exhorted upon the employees to be dedicated in their duties and tackle the problems of common man, so as to satiate their urges and aspirations. He said the people have great expectations from the administration and as such it becomes imperative of all of us to come up to their expectations. A large of people, educationist and social activists also called on the Deputy Commissioner and felicitated him on assumption of charge as the first Deputy Commissioner of the newly created district. President Low Paid Government Employees Federation, Syed Ahmed Shah, hoped that the present Government under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister G.N.Azad would endeavor to redresser grievances of the unemployed educated youth and extended its full cooperation to the district administration. Similarly, A D Shanhaz took over as Deputy Commissioner Ramban at an impressive and simple function which was attended by the officers of various departments apart from a large number of people from the town and adjoining areas. On his arrival in the town, a huge procession was taken out in honour of the Deputy Commissioner and was escorted to the office set up for the Deputy Commissioner. The processionits, jubilant in mood, raised slogans in favour of Chief Minister and hailed the decision of granting District status to Ramban. Talking to the people the newly appointed Deputy Commissioner assured that he would make every effort to come up to the expectations of the people and sought cooperation from one and all in smooth functioning of the administration.
