| SPEO demands technical grades for subordinate staff | | |

District Statistical and Planning Employees Organization (SPEO), in a meeting chaired by Chief Planning Officer, discussed the problems confronting the employees and impressed upon the government to concede their long pending demands.
The employees, among other things, are demanding providing of technical grades to the subordinate staff of the Planning and Development Department, change of designation and exemption from being transferred to Ladakh region.
The meeting took stock of the situation arising out of the inordinate delay in accepting the genuine demands of the employees and threatened to go on an indefinite strike fn the demands, put forth by the Organization earlier, are not fulfilled by the government.
Addressing the meeting, Chief Planning Officer has said that since the employees of the Planning and Development Department are performing job of highly technical in nature as compared to Accounts cadre, as such they need to be given technical grades.
Among others who spoke at the meeting included Abdul Hamid District President of the Organization, Sadiq Hussain General Secretary, Mahmood Iqbal Publicity Secretary and Rakesh Kumar Treasuer.
