| Orderly caught red handed accepting bribe | | | Jammu April 03 State Vigilance Organization today caught red handed Muzaffar Hussain Indrabi, Orderly in the office of Tehsildar Recovery Srinagar, while accepting Rs.500 as bribe for deferment in appearance in the court. A Vigilance Organization spokesman said that one Imtiyaz Ahmad Reshi S/o Abdul Rashid R/o Owntabhawn, Srinagar, lodged a written report with P/S VOK stating that he was running a business of electrical appliances at Batmaloo and had obtained a loan of Rs.66, 000 from State Bank of India, which however, he could not repay and became a defaulter. The bank authorities referred the case of recovery of loan to Tehsildar Recoveries, Srinagar, where the accused is working as office Orderly. The Tehsildar Recoveries had fixed a recovery installment of Rs.2000 per month towards liquidation of his loan but he had pleaded for fixing it at Rs.500 as he was unable to pay a bigger installment. The accused orderly contacted the complainant in connection with his pending case and demanded illegal gratification for giving him a relief in fixing installments of recovery and had already accepted illegal gratification of Rs.1500 from the complainant. Consequent upon this complaint a case FIR No. 22/2007 was registered in Police Station Vigilance Organization Kashmir and investigation taken up. In the course of investigation the officials of SVO laid a successful trap in the Revenue complex Srinagar and caught the accused Muzaffar Hussain Indrabi, Orderly R/o Keach Budgam red handed while accepting the bribe of Rs.500 from the complainant in presence of independent witnesses.
