| ISI man held with military documents in Manmad | | |
Manmad, Aug 04: A person by the name Arif, suspected to be an ISI agent, has been arrested from Manmad on Friday on charges of possessing important military documents.
Arif is suspected of having in possession designs of Indian missile technology. On questioning, he revealed the name of some 30-40 military officials. Though no legal action has been taken against these officials till now, notices have been sent to them.
Arif confessed to have obtained these military documents from his military contacts. But police are doubting his statement. Being an ISI agent he may be duping the police officials by taking false names or implicating honest officials whose names he may know, the police said.
Investigations are on and the police is seeking help from the Army to get a breakthrough in this case.
This is another incident after the Navy war room leak case wherein the credibility of defence forces has come under the scanner.
