| DYSS refresher course starts tomorrow | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 14: Organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) under the overall supervision of Director General, Navin Agarwal, the week-long refresher course for Physical Education Teachers (PETs) and Physical Education Masters (PEMs) shall start at different venues from March 16. Around 220 selected PETs and PEMs have been selected for the course. While those from Jammu Division shall be attending the course at Youth Hostel Nagotra, those from Kashmir Division shall undergo a similar course at Government College of Physical Education, Ganderbal. Aimed at training the cadre with regard to latest techniques and trends taking place in the field of sports, these teachers and masters shall also be given training in new games adopted by the School Games Federation of India (SGFI) in the recent past, a handout issued by the DYSS here today said. The training shall be imparted by the experts from within the department. Demonstrations about the first-aid and prevention from injuries, the role of sports medicine and new rules adopted by the sports federations and the Olympic Association will form part of the deliberations. |
