| NSF protests against VC CU-J | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 14 : National Secular Forum (NSF) staged a strong protest against Central University-Jammu (CU-J) to express dissatisfaction over its functioning. The protesting NSF activists alleged that VC has adjusted his relatives as Consultant and Officers on Special Duty (OSD), in utter violation of set norms. Addressing gathering here today, NSF President Sukhdev Singh said that VC has made University as his personal fiefdom, where all laws were either violated or tailored to give benefit to some of the favourites. Terming Central University Jammu as rehabilitation center for relatives and close ones of Vice Chancellor, Singh said that after the lapse of three years since CU was approved; same has been working from three rented buildings, plundering the exchequer brazenly. "According to CUJ norms, the maximum age for post of DSW is 62 years but the present incumbent is 65 years of age, which is clear violation of law and that too illegally as the post was not advertised", Singh rued. Sukhdev further said the varsity has become a rehabilitation center for retired and corrupt officials. He also said that favoritism galore in the Central University of Jammu. Leaving aside the appointment of over-aged persons as faculty members, the family members and the relatives of the varsity officials have been appointed on coveted posts in utter violation of University Statutes. Singh further questioned about the credibility of the CUJ in absence of the latest updates of its workings, plans, calendar, Appointments, and all other information on its Website. |
