Gursagar Singh Isher celebrates Sikh New Year

Jammu, March 14 : Socialist Democratic Party (SDP) candidate for Jammu-Poonch constituency Sardar Gursagar Singh Ishar today celebrated the Sikh New Year at Lower Gadigarh Gurudwara.
According to release issued, thousands of people today thronged the Gurudwara to celebrate the religious festival of Sikh population and paid obeisance at the Gurudwara.
The function was organised by Sikh youth under the supervision of Upkar Singh and Master Jagbir Singh (Pradan).
Later, Sardar Gursagar Singh Isher also had Langar with the people and thanked Pradan Jagbir Singh and youth of the area for organizing such occasions. On the sidelines of the occasion, Sardar Gursagar Singh Isher greeted all people in general and Sikh community in particular, 'Happy New Year'. He said "the epoch of this calendar is the birth of the first Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak Dev Ji, who was born in 1469.
Following the celebration of New Year at Gurudwara Gardi Garh, SDP parliamentary candidate, Sardar Gursagar Singh Isher considered the day auspicious for the launch of Party slogan for the upcoming elections. At the residence of Sardar Sampooran Singh (retd officer of Air Force) of Lower Gardi Garh, SDP launched its party slogan, 'YOUTH LAO DESH BACHAO', wherein large number of youth and prominent citizens of the area lauded the slogan and moreover, the agenda of SDP.
Following the launch of party slogan, Sardar Gursagar Singh Isher exhorted upon all, especially youth to understand the manifesto of all political parties before casting vote. He said, "Each vote counts and can decide the fate of the party. People should not vote for any such candidate, who had earlier deceived people and left bewildered," said Gursagar Singh Isher.
