Vijaypur, Mar 14: At a time when the two ruling allies are trying to project unity all for the sake of ensuring electoral prospects, a senior leader of Congress and former minister has punctured the claims by uttering something which exposes mainly the party in the steering wheel NC. The uttering also brings this fact to fore once again that when ruling National Conference has failed to fulfill needs and aspirations of its ally Congress and its workers, what good it can do with the masses in general. Threatening to launch agitation against the administration, senior Congress leader and former Minister Manjit Singh today staged a protest demonstration at the office of Deputy Commissioner Samba where hundreds of people assembled. Manjit Singh's statement is indicative of the fact that Congress leaders and ministers too have failed to address the problems confronted by its own party workers.

"The Government should enhance the compensation amount from Rs 300 per kanal to Rs 2000 per kanal as the farmers have spend much more money than they were offered by the Government following past flash flood in the border villages of Vijaypur," Singh said.
After hour long demonstration, Manjit Singh handed over a memorandum of demands to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah though Deputy Commissioner, Samba. He hoped that the PHE Minister Sham Lal Sharma as wells as Omar Abdullah would take quick steps for the solution of problem.
