DB directs to produce notification within 3 weeks
PIL seeking implementation of Juvenile Justice Act

Jammu, Mar 14: In a Public Interest Litigation filed by Voice of Rights through its President Deepika Singh Rajawat a practicing advocate seeking directions to State to notify the rules, which have already been drafted under Section 68 of the J&K Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2013, Division Bench of State High Court Comprising Chief Justice MM Kumar and Justice Muzaffar Hussain Attar after hearing Adv Mohd Irfan Khan for the PIL whereas Sr. AAG Gagan Basotra for the state observed that Senior Additional Advocate General after obtaining instructions states that the draft rules have already been approved by the Chief Minister and the notification shall be issued at the earliest preferably within a period of three weeks. After going through the statement of made by Sr. AAG, Division bench observed that proceedings in this WPPIL are closed. However, the factum of issuance of notification shall be reported to the Registrar Judicial before the expiry of three weeks. (JNF)
