| 81 renowned scholars from all over country to participate in 3 day Shaiv Darshan seminar | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 14; Eighty one renowned scholars from all over the country will converge at a three day long national seminar being organized by Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan , Deemed Univiersity in its Kot Bhalwal campus on contribution of Kashmir to Shaiv Darshan and Sahitya Shastra from march 19 to March 21. This was disclosed by the Principal of the campus Prof P N Shastri while talking to reports in the University Campus near here today along with other scholars and programme incharge of the seminar. This will be followed by prize distribution function in campus on March 22. He said Governor; N N Vohra will inaugurate the seminar on March 19. The first lady Mrs Usha Vohara will be the chief guest during the prize distribution function on March 22, he added. Prof Shastri also informed about the various activities by the Jammu campus of the University during the year. He said the main objective of organizing this seminar is to link the people to their roots. He highlighted the contribution of Kashmir towards Shaiv Darshan and said it has the unique place in the Darshan Shastras of Kashmir. But it is unfortunate that people of the State who should feel proud of their past glory have forgotten their ancient culture and tradition which was the pillar of pristine glory of Kashmir. While recalling the role of the Kashmir's contribution to Shaiv Shastra he said, the great scholars like Abhinav Gupta was one of the world renowned scholars of the Kashmiri Shavism and added that Adi guru Shankaracharya and Acharya Abhinav Gupt are the top raking world renowned Indian scholars. He said J&K is renowned as Sharda Desh but people have either forgotten this or don't know anything about the same. By holding this seminar the Sansthan wants to revive the pristine glory of the culture and link the people to their roots so that the present generation can be familiar of the same and also perform their active role in keeping this tradition alive. He said 145 students will also honoured during the seminar. Prof Hari Narayan highlighted the religious glory of Kashmir Shaivsm. Dr Manoj misri said there were six Shaiv philosophy schools all over country but Kashmir School was on top among them He said scholars from top most universities of the country will attend the seminar and read their research papers. |
