| Awareness programme under SVEEP organized | | | Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, Mar 14: An awareness programme for the young voters was organized by the NSS units of Govt. Degree College Udhampur under SVEEP programme of Election Commission of India.Organised in the central lawn of the College, the programme was specially innovated by making use of folk dance and music in order to attract the attention of youth.
Ramalo Ram, the youth icon for Udhampur District under SVEEP performed on this occasion by singing the especially composed motivational songs incorporating the message of registering and casting of votes as an important duty of all citizens. The District Development Commissioner Udhampur Yasha Mudgal while addressing the students urged them to understand the significance of their vote. "Women have remained passive till date by thinking that their role is insignificant in this constitutional exercise. All the girls should actively participate to decide the future of the Country. I would appreciate more such programmes which focus on dissemination of information and creating an awareness among the voters. A BLO may also be deputed to this campus for registering new voters in a camp organized for this purpose," she added. The College has displayed many banners and posters of inspiring slogans to motivate the young voters. |
