| Hiranagar residents protest against fake electricity bills | | | Early Times Report
Hiranagar, Mar 14: : Public wrath came out against PDD after having huge harassment and inconvenience due the overcharging of electricity bill, low voltage and unscheduled frequent cuts at Chann Rorian, Tehsil Hirganagar here today.
To highlight their grievances and unjust attitude of the PDD, the villagers of village Chann Rorian, held a massive protest demonstration and chanted the slogans against the negligence and corrupt practices of the PDD officials and protestors alleged the PDD for producing the fake electricity bills before the consumers as per strategy to make money illegally. The protestors Anil Sharma, Gopal Dass, Dharam Paul, Mohinder Paul, Vinod Sharma, Arvind Gupta, Tilak Raj and others alleged PDD for inadequate supplying of electricity and frequent unscheduled cuts which caused so many hardships for the innocent consumers.
They alleged the PDD for extra charging of electricity bill, they said the consumers who are using the electricity very less and nominal but forced to pay more than Rs 400 to Rs 500 which is unbearable amount for them and the consumers who are using extra electricity are paying just Rs 100 to Rs 200 as electricity charge per month this variation is not coming to understand for innocent people. The low electricity, frequent cuts, and no proper supply are the other onslaughts on the genuine consumers which are still unaddressed by the PDD despite taking so many deputations with administration. They pointed out the electricity bill setting with influential consumers by the PDD officials and said this is a corrupt practice which has been going on since long, according to which such consumers are left deliberately by the PDD officials to use extra electricity and shifted the burden on poor and innocent avg. consumers who are forced to pay unbearable and bogus electricity bill.
The protestors urged the District administration and state government to take a serious and stern action against the PDD for preparing controversial electricity billing and its overcharging, so that a fair PDS could be done. |
