| CPO celebrates World Consumer Rights Day | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 15 : On the eve of World Consumer Rights Day, Consumer Protection Organization (CPO) organized a function at Press Club Jammu under the leadership of its President CPO Des Raj Danish. Welcoming the guests, Des Raj exhorted the consumers to be vigilant about there rights and bring any compliant to the notice of Directorate of CAPD on its toll free numbers and also to the notice of consumer organizations. Sh. Danish especially highlighted the proble being faced on account of home delivery of cooking gas and over charging by Auto Rikshaws. Vidya Sagar District and Session Judge (Retd.) while speaking on the occasion threw light on Consumer Protection Act and other vital issues of Consumer interests. Yash Paul Gupta President Associated Chamber of Traders Federation and Retailers Federation highlighted the role of trading community especially retailers and informed the audience that his organization is doing its utmost to curb the menace of adulteration and have achieved significant success in this regard. The Directorate of CAPD was represented by Babu Ram Deputy Director who while addressing the gathering gave details of the role of his department in safe guarding the interests of general masses. The questions were also raised on the occasion and Babu Ram replied each and every one with patience. B.S. Sambyal Dy.
