Jammu, Mar 15: Continuing to show the unbridled power of Khakhi, the SHO Pacca Danga allegedly has harassed lawyer not only branded him as chain snatcher when he was objecting wrongful detention of vehicle at naka checking here on Friday.
According to victim, he was asked to show all the documents of the motorbike during a naka checking here today afternoon when he was coming to home. "As per lawyer, I showed him my identity card and requested him to let him go as I was in hurry and despite of knowing him that I was in hurry, the aggrieved stated and said, "SHO started using ****words showing disrespect to the lawyer fraternity."
He even called me that I look like a chain snatcher". At this the lawyer got angry and police started misbehaving with him.
Despite showing each and every document to the police pertaining to his bike, he said further adding, "they seized my vehicle in misbehavior case.'
"There is no legal seizure of vehicle on the charge of misbehavior, he said recalling the incident and further added meanwhile some locals and passersby also intervened and started protesting against police. "I will lodge a criminal complaint", said the practicing lawyer.
Meanwhile, a senior police officer when contacted said that policemen are human beings and they too deserves respect , adding, immense pressure has mounted on police keeping in view the ongoing snatching incidents. However, late in the evening, the keys of his motorbike was handed over to lawyer, police said. |
