| YSCC conducts hunt for Fast Bowlers at Doda | | Manjeet Kumar of Bhaderwah recorded 122 KPH speed | | Early Times Report
Kishtwar, Mar 16: The Young Star Cricket Club (YSCC) Doda today conducted first ever hunt for "Fast Bowlers" event at Doda under the "King of Speed" program which was sponsored by 10 Rashtriya Rifles Battalion Doda.
Principal GDC Doda Prof Z A Hashmi was the Chief Guest who inaugurated the event at Doda whereas SP Doda Mohammad Sharief Chouhan and Commanding Officer 10 RR Col Sunil Mishra were the Guest of Honor while HOD Economics GDC Doda Dr. Javed Tramboo, President Doda Welfare Society Mohammad Iqbal Balwan, Ex Cricketer Ifroz Rather and Muzaffar Sheikh, Manager YSCC Mehboob Kraipak were the Special Guests on the occasion.
During this occasion, around 150 bowlers hailing from different parts of District Doda and its adjoining Districts including Kishtwar and Ramban also participated in the hunt event to know their bowling speed.
Speaking on the occasion, Patron YSCC Doda Manzoor Ahmed Batt said that the club has conducted this event for fast bowlers to overcome the shortage of quality fast bowlers, which not only J&K state lacks, but the country in general. He said under the "King of Speed" program and through these trial camps, the club is making all possible efforts for the budding cricketers particularly fast bowlers to know their bowling speed. He further added that after conclusion of all trials in the state, we will forward the highest speed bowlers who will be recommended for undergoing further training at various training camps in future so that they will get a golden chance to represent state cricket team at its first leg.
Earlier the club organized same event at Jammu, Reasi, Udhampur, Kathua, Samba, Rajouri and Poonch District where the club recorded 117 KPH highest speed bowler Imran from Poonch whereas in Doda, Manjeet Kumar of Bhaderwah recorded 122 KPH speed. He informed that in Kashmir Division, the trial shall begin from 30th March 2014 at Victor Force Ground Awantipura.
Chief Guest Principal GDC Doda Prof. Hashmi while speaking on the occasion congratulated YSCC Doda and 10 RR for organizing such events in this state and especially this hunt for fast bowlers under which the bowlers under different age groups would further enhanced their bowling skills besides know their bowling speed also, which is first kind of such event in Jammu and Kashmir. SP Doda and CO 10 RR also spoke on the occasion and praised the efforts of club in promoting sportsmanship. |
