Jammu, Mar 16: Samajwadi Party today held a meeting under chairmanship of Party President Sheikh Abdul Rehman Ex. M.P and deliberated at length about the loss of life and property of the people in general and Chenab valley in particular due to recent snowfall and rains here at Party HQ.Expressing great shock and anguish, the participants said that prolonged blockade of drains, roads and link roads has increased the miseries of people manifold. Huge loss has been reported from various corners to the houses of the people as also to the Govt. buildings including school buildings which has put the lives of innocent school going children to great risk. Already huge loss has taken place in the entire Chenab Valley due to incessant tremors as the area falls in the seismic zone No.4 & 5.The Government has remained mute spectator to the loss caused due to tremors and now recent natural havoc has added fuel to the fire. Instead of coming to the rescue of hapless masses , the coalition parties are busy in diverting the attention of people from the real issues to the popularist measures like unpredictable administrative units, Health sub-centres and then proposed Medical colleges at this crucial juncture of Lok Sabha elections to lure and woe the innocent voters. Sheikh Ab Rehman, President, urged upon the Govt to immediately press Govt. machinery to action to restore the road for transportation of essential commodities as also to relieve the people stranded at various places. He also exhorted upon the Govt to take the matter seriously about the hidden lava of seismic danger in the entire Chenab Valley. The loss be got assured on war fooling and relief work started with further loss of time, he added. |
