Reiterating its demand for granting Tehsil status to Arnas, the President All Parties Development Committee Block (APDC) Arnas, Kuldeep Raj Dubey has appealed to the Chief Minister to consider this genuine demand at the earliest.
Addressing media persons here today, Dubey reminded the Chief Minister that the Cabinet-cum-District Development Board in its meeting held at Udhampur on April 26 last year had taken a decision to this effect and the Wazir Commission too had recommended grant of Tehsil status to Arnas.
He said Arnas Block, comprising Patwar circles of Kanthan, Juda, Danore, Thuroo, Kanthi, Chinkah, Jij, Duga Dansal, Hunder Chalad,Maslot, Thakrakote, Ladda, Panassa, Dharan, Khanikot, Thuroo A and B, Prankot, Nadkot, Salad, is spread over an area of 600 sq kms with a population of over 80000, majority of them being SC,ST and other backward classes.
Justifying his demand, Dubey said that Arnas is a centrally located place and presently people have to traverse 50-60 kilometers on foot to reach tehsil headquarter either at Mahore or Reasi. |
