| Highway blocked for 2 hours | | CRPF jawans clash with road opening party | | Banihal, April 04 The traffic movement on Jammu Srinagar National highway came to a grinding halt for about two hours today after the Jawans of 153 CRPF, who were part of a Convey, indulged into a verbal clash with the Road Opening Party of Army near trouble point of Nachlana. Eyewitnesses informed that CRPF jawans refused to obey the directions of the Road Opening Party of Army personnel who then blocked the CRPF convoy by parking their vehicles in front of it. This led to a verbal dual between the two groups, eyewitnesses said, adding that neither of the party agreed to get back their vehicles resulting into blockade of the traffic movement for about two hours. However, later on the intervention of the officers of the both sides, road was cleared. The unrestrained movement from either side, coupled with non adherence to the directions by the Security Force Convoys is giving a tough time to Road Opening Parties (ROPs) of Army and Traffic Police to maintain smooth movement of traffic at the trouble spot of Panthihal and Nachlana. The only road link connecting the Kashmir Valley with rest of the country remained blocked for about forty days during the last three months.
