| Police registers criminal case against NC MLA | | | Jammu, April 4 Jammu and Kashmir police has registered a criminal case against a sitting Member Legislative Assembly of National Conference for allegedly inciting communal trouble in Mendhar town of district Poonch. Official sources said that the case was registered against MLA Mendhar Javed Rana for inciting people in the communally sensitive area leading to clashes between the two communities.
The case was registered following repeated complaints by the member of one community that the clashes broke out in the town last week following the provocation by the legislator, sources informed. Several persons were injured in the communal clashes in the area which forced the authorities to clamp curfew. The situation turned ugly when the people of two communities clashed with each other over a land dispute. “The challan would be produced in the court of law against the MLA as and when the investigation is completed”, sources revealed.
