Jammu, Mar 30: Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Ghulam Nabi Azad Sunday told media persons that Bhartiya Janta Party's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi will exploit public sentiments from twin terror attacks in Kathua for political gains in future. Addressing a public rally in Dharmari area of Reasi District in Jammu and Kashmir, Azad said, Modi is misleading public in most of his rallies for political benefits and he (Modi) will definitely say that the attack was planned to kill him in his upcoming rallies in the country. "Modi used to garner vote through caste based politics", said the Union Minister.
To another question on whether it was security lapse or failure of Union Government to curb such attacks, Azad said, "Militants are attacking most of the Indian states including the Jammu and Kashmir to show their presence and we cannot single out anyone. Our security forces retaliated well and all the terrorists were killed". Azad appealed public of the town to vote and support Congress in the coming elections. Azad is contesting LS polls from Udhampur Doda Lok Sabha seat. Taking strong exception of Azad's statement on Modi, the BJP candidate from Udhampur-Doda Lok Sabha seat Dr. Jatinder Singh said, "Congress party leaders have lost their temper after BJP Prime Ministerial candidate got unprecedented public support through two successful rallies in Jammu". Dr. Jitendra accused National Conference as well as Congress Ministers of spreading communal tensions referring Kishtwar clashes and 62 days long Amarnath land row without naming anyone. According to security inputs, about 4,000 to 5,000 people attended the rally of Union Health minister but the actual strength was between 1,000 to 1,500, said an opposition member wishing anonymity.
