| Teacher beats student to death in MP | | | Bhopal | Friday, 04 August Bhopal:In a shocking incident in Umaria district of Madhya Pradesh, a 10-year-old school boy was done to death by his teacher for failing to tell the name of his country.
According to reports, the incident occurred on July 19, 2006 when the teacher Mahesh Yadav had asked Mukesh Gond, studying sixth class, the name of his country. When the boy failed to answer, he was slapped severely by the teacher, and in the process lost his hearing.
Mukesh was immediately admitted to a private hospital in the district and was discharged two days later. However, his condition worsened again and he was admitted to the hospital where he succumbed to internal injuries on Tuesday.
During preliminary investigation, Mukesh’s classmates confirmed that the teacher beat him severely when he failed to answer the question.
The police have registered a case in this connection against the teacher and are investigating further.
