Toll tax exemption for light vehicles

Jammu, Apr 4
Private vehicles owned by the residents of Basholi, Bani, Billawar and Kaedi Gandyal of Kathua district plying on routes of these areas have been exempted from toll tax at Lakhanpur from April 1st 2007.
This was disclosed by the Minister of State for Finance, Law and Revenue Mr. Prem Sagar Aziz while interacting with deputationists of Basholi, Bani and Billawar who called on him here today to apprise various problems confronting them with regard to toll tax.
Mr. Aziz said that a notification to this effect has been issued by the government keeping in view the long pending demand and to facilitate mini transporters. He said similar facilities have also been extended to private light vehicles plying on Qazigund,Dooru and Verinag routes and vice versa of Anantnag district provided that such vehicles are registered at toll post Lower Munda Qazigund and vehicles belonging to Kathua district registered at Lakhanpur and Thein toll posts
