| 3 LeT militants among four killed in Doda | | |
Doda, August 04: At least three militants and an army jawan were killed and four other soldiers injured in a night long fierce gun battle in Doda district, official sources said.
Official sources said that acting on specific information about the presence of group of militants at village Gundana of Doda district, army and Jammu Kashmir police launched a joint operation on Thursday night to nab the militants.
During the operation, sources said encounter took place between the security personnel and militants, which continued till early hours on Friday.
Three LeT militants were reportedly killed in the encounter, while one soldier also lost his life. Four jawans were also injured in the gunbattle.
According to Intercepts received by army intelligence, the deceased militants were identified as Abu Zubair, Ashraf Ganai a local militant and Mubarak Ali.
The jawan who lost his life was identified as Sepoy Subhash. The injured jawans have been admitted to a hospital in Doda.
A huge quantity of arms and ammunition was recovered from the encounter site. |
