Moral education basic fabric of qualitative human resource: Azad

Jammu, April 05
Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad has said that moral education constitutes basic fabric for development of qualitative human resources adding that imparting value based education to children at school level nurture their moral character along with academic career.
He was addressing students and teachers at a function held at Kotwal National Institute of Teaching (KNIT) here today.
He said inculcation of moral education in children should be corner pillar of education system and earnest attention must be devoted to realize this significant goal.
Mr. Azad said that creation of honest, developed, emancipated and patriotic society demands character building from the childhood. “School is the germination ground for young seeds to grow and flourish”.
Chief Minister said government is focusing on the expansion and consolidation of both school and higher education, and massive infrastructure development and placing of qualified staff has been set in motion, however, imparting of quality education depends upon the teaching staff, whom he described architect of nation and asked them to make dedication and missionary zeal motto of their noble profession.
Mr. Azad said alongwith government schools, education institution in private sector are side by side engaged in the process of imparting education to children. “Their endeavours should be co-ordinated and complimentary to each others to achieve the goal with commitment”, he maintained.
Mr. Azad said that education cannot be treated merely a commercial activity and job giving sector. “Responsibility towards nation and society should be its main purpose”.
Mr. Azad while hailing modus-operandi of KNIT for extending high quality education to the students from poorer sections by providing necessary sops said that it is moral binding on all educational institutions in private sector to make their institutions available for students belonging to economically poorer families by waving off and reducing fee and other dues. This, he said, would help in a big way to impart quality education universally and help talent from all over the society to grow and excel.
He said supervision of education institutions especially in rural areas is imperative to ensure upto the mark functioning of schools and addressing issues requiring attention of administration.
He said presently different disciplines in education sector are looked after by different heads making inspections and supervisory visits more easy and accessible as compared in the past. “To oversee functioning of education institution is important assignment of heads of various disciplines”, he said and added that complete feed back is must for necessary action wherever required.
Chief Minister said that present education system has completely got transformed and job opportunities for educated youth are being viewed as significantly important. “This phenomenon should form important part of education system in the state so that youth after coming out from colleges and universities should not sit idle even for a day. For creating this type of system edifice has to be laid at school level”.
He also praised Prof. Kotwal’s contribution as a teacher and said that he has worked with sincerity and commitment in this field.
Chief Minister distributed certificates and momentous among the students.
Principal Secretary Higher and Technical Education, Director Colleges, Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Principal KNIT were present on the occasion.
