| Speeding truck mauls girl to death | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 7: A 24 year-old girl was knocked to death by an over speeding truck at Gajansoo area on Monday. The deceased has been identified Sudesh Devi daughter of Sham Lal of Gajansoo, sources said. Police sources said that the deceased was going to fields along with her mother when an over speeding truck hit her resulting severe injuries to her.
"The injured girl was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) where she was pronounced as brought dead, sources said. Police sources said that initially the truck driver managed to escape from the spot along with the truck but after getting information from locals that the truck was loaded with cement all the nakas were alerted and a team led by SI Jaswinder Singh, Inch Gajansoo under the supervision of SHO Kanachak Rakesh Sharma intercepted the truck at Bhour Camp and arrested the driver. The accused driver has been identified as Sunil Kumar of Kathua, sources said further adding, "the truck bearing registration number JK08-3870 has been seized while further investigation is on. |
