| Sex scam victim shifted to unknown place | | Female employees of Secretariat resent presence of Yasmina in their hotel | |
Srinagar, August 04 : Yasmina, the so called victim in the infamous sex scam, has been moved to an unknown place from a hotel in Raj Bagh area where she was shifted by Kashmir Police only three days back. Sources in the civil secretariat said that, a strong resentment by some female employees of the Civil Secretariat, who are putting up in the same hotel, forced police to shift Yasmina from there, early this morning, sources said. Amidst tight security, Police had brought Yasmina to this hotel from the district jail only two days back. Even as shifting of the sex racket `victim’ from the district jail to this hotel was kept a top secret by the law enforcing agency, the Civil Secretariat employees putting up there came to know about presence of the girl through some workers of the hotel. The female employees took the company of Yasmina in their hotel very seriously and lodged a strong resentment against the same. Some representatives of these employees took up the matter with Chief Secretary and sought his intervention. “We came to know about the presence of Yasmina in the Hotel, where we are putting up through some employ of the Hotel” female employee, who doesn’t want to be named, said on the condition of anonymity. Sources informed that the employees asked the Government to either shift Yasmina from the hotel or made some alternate arrangement for their stay. On this, the Chief Secretary took up the matter with Director General of Police Gopal Sharma following which a decision was taken to shift Yasmina from the hotel to somewhere else. However, the sources could not find out the new place where the girl has been moved. It may be mentioned here that 14 people, including two former State Ministers, two Police officers, one DIG of BSF, a former Additional Advocate General and a senior IAS officer have so far been arrested on the instance of Yasmina who has been portrayed as a victim in the sex racket. However, on the other hand, the defence counsel has challenged the CBI’s assertion that Yasmina was a minor. In the Court of Session Judge, defence Counsel Moulvi Aijaz has claimed that Yasmina was 25 years old according to some documents submitted by the latter herself to Divisional Commissioner’s officer, Srinagar. |
