Crime Branch books line inspector of electric department for cheating

The crime branch today booked Mohmmad Anwar Dar son of Ghulam Ahmad Dar resident of Khiram, Nowshera, Tehsil Bijbehaa, Anantnag working as line Inspector in Electric Department in a cheating case under sections 420 and 120 RPC.
The accused had taken money from one Haji Ghulam Nabi Khanday resident of Anchidoora, Anantnag alleging therein that the former had taken Rs. 28000/- from him.

A written complaint filed by Khanday, states that the accused had taken money on the pretext that he would manage the appointment of complainant’s nephew in some government service.


Neither any Government job was managed nor the money taken in advance was returned to the complainant.
The matter was probed by Crime Branch. and the allegations leveled against the suspect were found to be based on facts. Since the allegations against the suspect got substantiated as such a formal criminal case under FIR No. 62/2004 under section 420 RPC was registered for detailed investigation.
During the course of investigation persons acquainted with the facts of the case were examined and all the witnesses corroborated the allegations. The investigation revealed that aforesaid accused person has cheated the complainant by having adopted deceitful means and has thereby induced him to deliver the amount in question as a consideration for providing government job to his nephew.
Meanwhile, in another case Crime Branch was also in receipt of a complaint from one Mohmad Sadiq R/o Magai Shahdara Sharief Thanamandi District Rajouri and others alleging therein that Habib-ullah Bhat, Ghulam Rasool Bhat, Mohmad Ayub Bhat R/o Hakoora, Badasgam met them.
Habib-ullah Bhat, posed himself as personal secretary to Transport Minister and other as PA to Deputy Chief Minister.
The accused than promised them that they could be appointed on vacant posts of class IV if they were paid by the complainants.
As such an amount of Rs 4.35 lakh was paid to the alleged fake officials, and as per the investigation one Sanjay Kumar is also alleged to have motivated the complainants by promising them that he would manage their appointments orders after the settlement of the monetary transaction.
Despite, the payment of money, the accused did not deliver any jobs promised to them
And consequently they lodged a complaint in Crime Branch.

During the course of enquiry it came to surface that Habib-ullah Bhat has indulged in an act of impersonation by impersonating himself as personal secretary to Transport Minister J&K Government. It was also established that he had lured the complainants to provide huge amount of money for arranging governments jobs through deceitful means and thereby causing a wrongful loss to them.
