The two day state level Pahari conference organized by J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages concluded here today.
The conference demanded introduction of reasonable time slots for Pahari programmes and news bulletin on Doordarshan and All India Radio, granting schedule tribes status to Pahari speaking people besides strengthening Pahari wing of the Academy.
Meanwhile, Maulana Mohd. Khalil Jawahar, Dr. Abbdul Haq Naeemi, Dr. Shahnawaz Khatana and Dr. Mohammad Bashir Magray presented papers during the conference.
S. Ichupal Singh, Rubina Bhatti, Sheikh Azad, Zargar Khokar, Noor Mohammad Bhatti and Bekam Singh Rani and presented short stories during the conference.
The session concluded with the Pahari Mushaira which was attended by Zahoor Ahmad Qazi, Sheikh Fazal Ahmad, Rashid Qammar, Shafiq Arish, Gurcharan Singh, Gulshan Imtiayaz, Naseen Mir, Mohd. Mir, Zakir Fayaji, Khursheed Bismil, Haji Bashir Shad, Tanveer Iqbal Malik, Sayeed Mubarak Naqvi, Dashurat Hussain and Ashrad Naj.
