| Investiture ceremony held | | |

The investiture ceremony for the Academic session 2007-08 was held at Sainik School, Nagrota here today in which meritorious cadets were honoured with various School and House level appointments.
In his welcome address, the principal of the school, Group Captain V T Parnaik brought out the importance of the prefectorial system in elite public schools. He said that this system helps in developing leadership traits among cadets who aspire to join the defence forces as officers.
The chief guest K M Wani, secretary education, awarded epaulets of various ranks to the school was well as House appointments. The appointments included cadet Navdeep Singh, school captain, cadet Achyut Gupta and cadet Akash Sharma – cadet adjutants, cadet Pushkar Tiwari and cadet Thinless Wangchuk-cultural captain, cadet Netarpal Singh – mess captain and cadet Harsh Guleria – Day – scholar captain. On the occasion, school band exhibited a brief display and the programme concluded with vote of thanks by Cdr Sanjay Nirmal, the head master of the school.
