KISHTWAR, Apr 13:- BJP has expressed serious concern over the deployment of VDC members on election duty to debar them and their families from participating in elections in erstwhile Doda district.Taking serious exception to the decision of State administration to deploy the VDC members on election duty, BJP candidate from Kathua-Doda Lok Sabha constituency, Dr. Jitendra Singh alleged that this is a deliberate attempt of the coalition to debar the VDC members to cast their vote as they all are supporters of BJP which has always In an appeal Chief Electoral Officer of the State, Dr. Singh appealed him to intervene in the mater and issue directives to State Government to cancel the order. He said VDC's have been constituted to guard their respective villages from militant's attacks. He said by deploying the VDCs on poll duty, the coalition activists can even threaten the BJP voters from exercising their votes in remote areas of the erstwhile Doda district in the absence of VDCs. Dr. Singh also criticised the State Government for not providing helicopter to him for campaigning in Padder and remote areas of Kishtwar district. Dr Singh visited by road to road to remote areas of Padder for campaigning today. BJP prabhari for J&K Avinash Rai Khanna has also warned the State Government against the deployment of VDC member on poll duty and asked the ED to ask the State administration to cancel the decision which was taken on political considerations. He said the coalition has taken this decision to deprive BJP voters from casting their vote. Meanwhile Jammu Peoples Front (JPF) leader Satish Poonchi who is contesting election from Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha seat extended his party's support to Dr. Jitendra Singh of BJP who is contesting from Kathua-Doda seat. Poonch said that Dr. Singh being an honest and an intellectual deserves support of people so that every seat goes to kitty of Modi to become next Prime Minister of Country. |
