| Nature Scapes-exhibition of photographs inaugurated at Kalakendra | | | JAMMU, April 07 An exhibition of photographs “Nature Scapes” was inaugurated by the Minister for Power Mr. Nawang Rigzin Jora and Chief Secretary Mr. C. Phunsog at Kalakendra here today. The show has been organized by Mr. Nisar Rahi retired Chief Photo Officer of Information Department and sponsored by J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages. Mr.Rahi has dedicated this display of photographs of bright and barren-scapes to the people of J&K with a view to inculcate interest about the richness of natural beauty, scattered all around in the most beautiful part of the country. A scintillating array of photographs from Patnitop to the cold desert of Ladakh capturing the splendor of nature during his journeys has found place in this exhibition. While addressing on the occasion, Power Minister lauded the efforts of Mr. Nissar which he has put in capturing the magnificent natural beauty of the state through his lens. He said the exhibition showcases creativity of art which the artist has prepared during the last couple of years. He said the photographs displayed by the artist are not Ladakh specific but has covered other areas and fields of life of the state. He said Ladakh has produced world-renowned personalities and the first ever-Muslim King of Kashmir Rinchin Shah was of Ladakh origin. Chief Secretary Mr. C. Phunsog in his speech congratulated Mr. Nissar for preparing a master piece of art displayed in the exhibition. He said photography is an art, which captures the essence of nature besides life of human beings and other living creatures. He appreciated the works of the artist and said because of this hard work he has entered into the hub of creative artists. Secretary J&K Academy of Art Culture and Languages Dr. Rafeeq Masoodi also appreciated the creative endeavour of Mr.Rahi and said that it is a wonderful peace of art collected by him. |
