| Builders Association assails govt on fixing land rates | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Apr 11 Jammu Builders and Coloniers Association has condemned the state govt. for fixing the rates of land on arbitrary basis. Subash Sharma, President of Jammu Builders and Coloniers Association wile addressing media person said that no authority can fix rate for one particular area as rates varied from location to location. Rates fixed by the authority in most of cases are very high, and Agricultural “C” class is used for residential area. He further said that government rates are 40 to 100 times higher for residential area. He further added that increase in rates will lead to closure of sale purchase leading to slow down of construction activity. As more than 5 lakh workers are connected with this industry, they will be rendered jobless. He further added that on one side Govt.of India is giving slogan “Shelter to everyone but it has no meaning in J&K.” He appealed to the people to cooperate with them for fighting against the decision taken by the Govt.
