| PAPA appeals CM for amending RTI act | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | April11 People Action and Public Accountability (PAPA), general secretary, Surinder Gupta, while addressing media persons highlighted the present malfunctioning in the J&K State Board of School Education such as mismanagement of the board authorities in running elementary teachers training course causing damage to the students community and the reputation of the state, government is granting permission to the non-deserving people to run the institutes ignoring the rules and norms. He further said that board authorities and private institutions give unjustified concessions to the students involved in board courses like ETT course. Inspite of remaining absent through out the session the students were allowed to sit in the exams. Gupta further disclosed that the chairman of the board was fully convinced about all the issues raised during the meeting and said he is not satisfied with the prevailing situation related to B.Ed. colleges and the other private institutions. He appealed to the CM to take initiatives for making certain amendments in the Right to Information Act to make it more effective and helpful in eradication of corruption.
