JAMMU, Apr 26 : The 108th birth anniversary of Shaivachariya Ishwar Swaroop Shri Lakshman Joo Maharaj, the last doyen of Kashmir Shaivism, was celebrated here today at Ishwar Ashram Bhawan in Mahinder Nagar with great fervour, reverence and devotion.
The function in which, besides disciples and devotees, a large number of people participated.The programme started with hoisting of flag at seven in the morning followed by recitation of Guru Stuti, Guru Vandana and presentation of floral tributes by devotees of Swami Ji Maharaj.
Book & CD containing English explanation by Ishwar Swaroop Ji Maharaj, of the Sanskrit Tika by Shaivachariya Abhinav Gupta of Shrimad Bhagwat Gita Ji, was also released by Vijay Bakaya, Member J&K Legislative Council. The Ashram library, wherein old manuscripts and books on Kashmir Shaivism are kept, was also thrown open by Bakaya. |
