| JKPF demands abrogation of Article 370 | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 26: Demanding abrogation of Article 370 of the Indian constitution, the Jammu and Kashmir People's Front (JKPF) said today that granting special status to J&K was only a temporary provision. Talking to media persons here, Chief Patron of the JKPF, Satish Poonchi said Article 370 was a temporary provision of Indian Constitution which should be abrogated now. He said Article 370 instead of doing any good to the people of the State as harmed the interest and created hurdles in the rapid industrialization to overcome the unemployment problems and take the sate on the path of development. Poonchi said earlier there was a permit system in the State and anybody from rest of the India could not visit J&K till he seeks permit from the State Govt, but this system was broken by the Jan Sangh President, Dr Shyama Parsad Mukerjee who crossed Lakhanpur bridge without permission and was arrested. He said it was because of Mukerjee and agitation of Praja Parishad that permit system was abolished and people from any party of the India could visit the state at free will. The fate of Kashmiris changed with removal of permit system and in case Article 370 is removed the barrel position will be better in the J&K State. |
