NC- Cong leave behind huge political, developmental problems: Baig
4/26/2014 11:48:43 PM
Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Apr 26: Senior Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) leader and candidate for Baramulla Lok Sabha seat Muzaffar Hussain Baig has said the NC- Cong alliance is leaving behind huge political and developmental problems and it will need a complete overhaul of the system to bring the state back to rails.
Addressing a series of meetings in Tangmarg today Baig said both at central and state level PDP alone has the credibility and competence to represent the difficult problems that they are facing. He said during the last five years Omar Abdullah has been making only phony announcements on all issues.
Whatever he said about employment, fast track recruitment, revocation of AFSPA or rehabilitation of those people who had crossed the LoC, have turned out to be white lies.
Baig said the persons who had crossed LoC were duped into coming back to a better future. These people have acquired families and have now been left high and dry. They are facing problems on account of the nationality of their spouses and education for their children besides lack of employment avenues.
Observing that the present regime has lost its credibility, he said, "After formation of National Conference led government in the year 2009, the State has been plunged into unprecedented crisis and this regime has become synonymous of chaos and uncertainty".
Seeking mandate of the people to fulfil unfinished agenda of PDP, Baig said "the process of the State's political and economic transformation started by the PDP-led coalition government in the year 2002 has to be now taken to the logical conclusion with the support of the common people". "It is very unfortunate that the present National Conference led regime has failed to the carry forward the development agenda which was started during PDP-Congress regime after 2002", he said.
