| Potable water crisis draws public ire on roads | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, Apr 26: Public wrath was seen drawn on road by the potable water crisis and mismanagement of industrial effluent at Hatli Morh Kathua here today. The public anger turned as a biggest protest demonstration that led more than one hour blocking of Kathua-Hatli Morh road. The protest was led by social activists and residents Balvinder Singh Raju, Sukhvinder Singh, and Sonu Mehra and raised the slogans against the PHE and PCB during the protest. They alleged the PHE and Pollution Control Board for forcing the innocent population of the area to drink the industrial effluent mixed water and posing a fatal threat to the health of thousands of people of the area. They accused that the PHE is informed many times about the pollution of water due to the industrial effluent drain and even PCB was also given the information but no action has been taken to deal the problem so far and left the people to face problem further more. In the protest Rano Devi, Vidya Sharma, Dhamanjeet Singh and many others were also present. |
