| World veterinary day 2014 celebrated | | | JAMMU, Apr 26: The Retired Veterinarians Forum celebrated the World Veterinary Day with great enthusiasm and fervour at Directorate of Animal Husbandry Department Jammu.
A large number of members of Retired Veterinarians Forum participated in the celebrations which were also attended by Director, Animal Husbandry, Jammu and other serving officers of the department. Various speakers deliberated on the theme Animal Welfare highlighting the need for increased measures for welfare of the animals in view of changes in natural habitat of animals, changing technologies, emergence of new diseases.
During the celebration of World Veterinary Day 2014 the Department highlighted the role of veterinary profession and veterinarians in animal welfare and human health.
The veterinarians present on the occasion pledged to utilize their scientific knowledge in animal welfare by providing better healthcare, better nutrition, better management and better shelter. |
