| 4 held, 34 bovine animals rescued in Udhampur | | | Early Times Report
Udhampur, Apr 30: Udhampur Police today rescued 34 bovine animals and arrested 4 bovine smugglers in two different cases of P/S Chenani and Kud, police said. "Based on reliably information, a Police party of P/S Chenani under the command of Inspector Ajeet Singh, SHO P/S Chenani laid a surprise naka near Chenani top on NH-1A in the wee hours. The naka party intercepted two trucks bearing Regd no JK1A-5419 and JK02AD/2817 and found animals loaded in the vehicles while occupants failed to provide relevant documents for inter-district transportation of animals,' Police said. The bovine smugglers namely identified as Mukhtyar Hussian s/o Wazir Hussian of Thanamandi Rajouri and Abdul Aziz s/o Gulam Mohd of Ramban were arrested on the spot,, police said adding, "26 bovine animals i.e. 13 from each truck were rescued while the both vehicles were also seized." A case with FIR No 35/2014 U/S 188/RPC 3 PC ACT stands registered at P/S Chenai while further investigation of the case is going on. Yet in another similar case Police party from Police Station Kud laid a surprise naka on national highway in Kud and intercepted a Mohindra (truck) bearing regd no: JK03C-1193 and found 08 bovine animals loaded in the truck. "Sajad Ahmed (driver) s/o Mohd Altaf and his associate Ayaz Ahmed s/o Mohd Tahir (both from Kokernag) were arrested after they failed to provide necessary documents/permission for transporting animals." A Case against FIR No. 33/2014 U/S 188/RPC 3 PCA Act stands registered at P/S Kud against the accused and further investigation of the case is on. |
