Jammu, Apr 30: Dr Tariq Ahmed Kawoos, Director Colleges, Higher Education Department, J&K Govt visited Govt Degree College (GDC) Billawar along with Ravi Gupta, Divisional Manager, Project Monitoring Committee(PMC), Higher Education Department in order to review the ongoing projects and the infrastructure of the college. According official spokesperson, both senior officials took stock of the issues concerning boundary wall and land of the college by meeting with concerned people whose land has been acquired for the opening of the Govt Degree College (GDC) Billawar. During their visit, the Director Colleges inspected the laboratories, library, canteen, dispensary and health/sports block, play grounds, examination centers, the ongoing construction work of boundary wall, reception counter and multipurpose hall and took the stock of progress of ongoing work. Later on, he held a meeting with teaching and non- teaching staff in the Conference Hall. Dr B L Gupta, Principal of the College briefed the special invitees about the activities of the college during session 2013-14 through Power Point Presentation (PPT). Mementoes were also presented to the guests as a token love and respect for their maiden visit to the college. The programme was compeered by Prof Amit Kumar Sharma and vote of thanks was presented by Prof. Sanjeev Kumar Gupta. Pertinent to mention that GDC Billawar is funded by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), New Delhi and was affiliated with UGC under section 2(f) and 12B in the year 2007 for receiving central assistance. |
