Kathua, Apr 30: In continuation to the drive launched by District Police Kathua against drug peddlers/smugglers indulged in illegal trade of drugs, Police toady recovered 250 kgs of poppy straw packed in 16 gunny bags abandoned along road side on Jammu-Pathnkot Highway near Chhan Rorian.
Police spokesperson said, "Following specific input about drug smuggling, Police patrolling party of P/S Rajbagh intensified patrolling in and around Chhan Rorian-Kishanpur Kandi localities and police party found that 16 Nos of bags Poppy Straw lying along roadside on National Highway at Kishanpur Kandi.
The accused person are not traced out, police said adding, "a case against FIR No.67/2014 U/S 8/15, 21/22 NDPS Act stands registered at P/S Rajbagh.
Meanwhile massive manhunt is on to apprehend the accused persons, police added.
