PRF extends support to ongoing agitation of lawyers

JAMMU, Apr 30: Public Rights Forum (PRF) today extended its support to the ongoing agitation of lawyers in Jammu. In a press conference held at Gandhi Nagar, the Public Rights Forum president Abhimanyu Pratap Singh Jamwal condemned the high handedness of police department and demanded a strict action against the guilty officer at the earliest so as to end the deadlock between police authorities and lawyer association.
Expressing concern over the situation arising out of the lawyer's agitation Jamwal asked the authorities concerned to avoid the path of confrontation and settle the issue at the earliest by forming an independent inquiry committee comprising of members of police department, judiciary and civil society.Jamwal said that the prevailing situation has caused a lot of hardship to the litigants and the common man is suffering due to this deadlock.He further urged the home department and police department to impart proper training to the police personnel on dealing with the general masses of society and public at large.
