| JKGBD(Y) to hold 'foot march' from Nagrota to Qazigund | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 30: Alleging that Gujjar & Bakkerwal i.e. nomad community is facing a number of difficulties due to various reasons, Jammu Kashmir Gujjar Bakerwal Desh Youth (JKGBD) Body today decided to hold a march from Nagrota to Quazigund. Citing various incidents, the Nazaket Khatana president of organization in a press conference here today said, "some days ago on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, a vehicle loaded with essentials of Gujjar & Bakkerwal was on the way towards valley on April 25 and some traffic police men chased the vehicle resulting driver to fail to negotiate a dangerous turn at Khooni Nallah and vehicle rolled down into deep gorge killing four precious human lives. "In another similar incident on 28 April again the same incident took place at National Highway near Ramban and a vehicle owned by nomad community on the way to Kashmir valley met with tragic accident resulting into two deaths and nine injured courtesy some black moles within traffic department who are treating every nomad on transition as bovine smuggler, he added. Urging IG (Traffic) to take stern action against such moles, he said his action will be appreciative and poor Gujjar & Bakkerwal Community shall be protected. He also said if the state government and concerned authorities fail to take action the organization shall hold a foot march from Nagrota to Quazigund to raise voice of poor nomads. |
