Jammu, Apr 30: Air Force School Jammu to enhance the know- how about Mathematics and Science Teachers organized an enriching lecture on Origami: Fun of Mathematics wherein eminent mathematician V S S Sastry was the resource person who also has his name in Limca book records.
V S S Sastry awarded with 'Vision Award' and a cash prize of Rs 50,000.00 by Karnataka Government is only Maths cartoonist in India and is a Limca book record holder, spokesperson of school said adding, " visitor has also 26 books in his credit and 1 for Vigyan Prasar. He displayed the mathematical theorems using Orgami i.e. paper folding. He also brought to light many Origami & Carigamy techniques to have deeper impact on students. Earlier in his welcome address Vikesh Sandhal, Principal, Air Force School highlighted his simplicity and grounded attitude. He said that Mr Sastry is not only a celebrated man of Mathematics but also a great intellectual. Navdeep Kour, Coordinator presented the vote of thanks. |
